CCJS 232 - Criminal Forensics A study of the application of science to law enforcement, to include an examination of a crime scene, laboratory analysis of blood and serums, comparative micrography, firearms identifications and ballistics, fingerprint, and other techniques. PREREQUISITE(S): CCJS 110 or consent of department. Three hours each week. Formerly CJ 232.

Course Outcomes: Upon course completion, a student will be able to:
- Identify the basic principles of forensic science.
- Explain the nature of physical science as applied to forensic investigations.
- Explain the importance of the proper collection and preservation of evidence.
- Demonstrate the methods and techniques used to examine and analyze evidence, as well as the limitation of these methods.
- Comprehend the importance of the forensic laboratory in the criminal justice system.
