CCJS 222 - Criminal Evidence A description of the nature, types, collection, preservation, and introduction of evidence. An analysis of laws and court decisions relating to the admissibility of evidence. PREREQUISITE(S): CCJS 110 or consent of department. Three hours each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the constitutional foundations for the rules of evidence.
- Interpret the legal principles of evidence applied in most criminal trials.
- Distinguish between the types of evidence including testimonial, documentary, or real evidence.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles, rules, and definitions associated with the collection of evidence in order to apply those principles to the process.
- Comprehend the consequences when one fails to comply with the rules of evidence.
- Explain how judical precedent impacts the rules of evidence.
