CMGT 275 - Construction Planning and Scheduling (R only) Credit for Prior Learning
Reviews and analyzes requirements and preparation of construction planning and scheduling. Topics include scheduling techniques in resource leveling, equipment allocation, time-cost relationships, and monitoring/controlling work progress. The course incorporates the use of computers in the planning and scheduling process. PREREQUISITE(S): CMGT 100 , CMGT 190 , and CMGT 210 , or consent of department. Two hours lecture, two hours laboratory each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of general aspects and variables affecting construction management as related to planning and scheduling a project.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Project Control Cycle.
- Describe the basic procedures and scheduling techniques utilized during the pre-construction stages of a project.
- Articulate the basic phases of construction scheduling: planning, scheduling and monitoring, in particular as applied to CPM scheduling techniques.
- Build schedules into Primavera P6 Software.
- Generate project management reports, bar charts and diagrams from the CPM schedule.
- Apply the information obtained from the computer-generated reports and graphics.
