TECH 295 - Tabletop and Mixed Media Game Design Explore the world of non-digital and hybrid games, from traditional tabletop experiences like board games and card games to innovative augmented reality (AR) and mixed media formats. This course covers the history and evolution of analog games, the fundamentals of game design, and the integration of digital elements into physical game environments. Topics include design principles, teamwork, production processes, and industry insights, with opportunities to create your own original game projects. PREREQUISITE(S): NONE, but TECH 190 , TECH 290 , and a computer graphics course are strongly recommended. Assessment Level(s): ENGL 101 /ENGL 011 . Four hours each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Evaluate a variety of tabletop and mixed media games and analyze game design fundamentals.
- Work in teams to design and create functional prototype tabletop or mixed media games while developing teamwork, design, business, and production skills.
- Test, evaluate, and critique game experiences to assess gameplay and user experience.
- Develop an online portfolio of game development work.
