DATA 269 - Data Science and Technologies Internship College credit for working in a professional environment related to the data science field. The intent is to give an appropriate work experience that will expand students’ knowledge and aid in making career decisions. A limited number of internships are available through the program each semester, or the student may propose an internship. A comprehensive record of the work experience is kept by the student and discussed in seminar meetings. To qualify for this course, a student must have completed DATA 205 and must provide a letter of recommendation from one of their program professors. PREREQUISITE(S): Consent of internship coordinator and a minimum of 12 semester hours in DATA, MATH, or CMSC courses required in the program. Three hours lecture and eight to ten hours of work experience each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Clearly articulate (verbally and in writing) the duties of their job and how they relate to their program of study.
- Develop and apply critical skills and knowledge related to data science in a work environment.
