TVRA 260 - Radio Station Operation (R only)
Advanced radio students participate in daily operation of a campus-wide radio station. Students will function in the areas of production, engineering, performance, and management and create an online portfolio representing their best work. PREREQUISITE(S): A grade of C or better in TVRA 220 . One hour lecture, five hours laboratory each week.
3 semester hours
Course Outcomes: Upon course completion, a student will be able to:
- Operate a radio station and its online presence using industry standard radio automation and scheduling software.
- Perform the duties of announcer and/or board operator for live air shifts and in the creation of podcasts.
- Work effectively in a radio station management position including news and public affairs, programming, promotions, management, and production.
- Direct station personnel to respect copyright laws.
- Compile and publish a successful online portfolio and new media presence to support transfer or the search for employment.
