CMAP 245 - Database Applications


Offers hands-on experience using a database management system. Students learn how to create and manipulate database objects including tables, forms, queries, reports, macros, and modules for practical business applications. Topics also include integration of databases with other applications. Assessment Level(s): ENGL 101 /ENGL 011 , MATH 050 , or consent of department. Three hours each week.

3 semester hours

May not be taken concurrently with MATH 017  or MATH 020  or MATH 030  or MATH 045  without appropriate Math assessment score.

Course Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Create and manage databases and table relationships.
  • Create and modify tables, fields, and manage records.
  • Create and modify forms, fields, and form controls.
  • Create and modify queries using criteria and tools in design view.
  • Create and modify reports, fields, and report controls.
  • Import, export, and print data.
