IDES 240 - Textiles, Materials, and Finishes for Interior Design (R only)
Introduction to interior materials and finishes. Research, specification, and installation. Environmental impact and human health and well-being. History and role of decorative arts. Showroom visits and product representative demonstrations. Assessment Level(s): ENGL 101 /ENGL 011 . Three hours lecture each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Use knowledge of environmentally responsible methods and resources to select sustainable materials and finishes for interior environments.
- Explain LEED and WELL principles and incorporate into interior design schemes.
- Identify common interior textiles, materials, and finishes: raw materials, production, and installation.
- Define performance regulations and requirements that are part of an interior design project.
- Incorporate an understanding of the history of textiles and decorative arts in world cultures.
- Describe the role of product representatives and showrooms.
- Complete industry standard paperwork including product specifications and purchase orders.
