BLDG 270 - Commercial Refrigeration (R only)
A continuation of the study of refrigeration with an emphasis on coolers and freezers, walk-in and reach-in units, and ice machines. Topics include system installation, service and retrofitting, combustion and combustion analysis, and pipe fitting. PREREQUISITE(S): BLDG 172 and BLDG 173 . Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory each week.
4 semester hours
Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Identify walk-in and reach-in equipment and their applications.
- Identify cooler and freezer components.
- Describe the operation of commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Describe typical cooler and freezer service procedures.
