ANIM 210 - Animation II: Introduction to 3D Animation An introduction to the fundamentals of 3D animation focusing on key areas such as animation principles, modeling, material, lighting, rigging, and rendering practices. PREREQUISITE(S): ANIM 200 . Two hours lecture, four hours studio each week.
3 semester hours
It is recommended that animation students complete ARTT 100 - Introduction to Drawing prior to taking this course.
Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Identify and practice basic 3D animation techniques.
- Employ basic principles of 3D animation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sculptural concepts to create basic and complex three-dimensional models.
- Employ techniques of character design and development.
- Work with shaders and lighting within a virtual environment.
- Build basic rigs to pose and animate bipedal models.
- Create, render, and composite a 3D animated short.
- Critique and discuss peer work.
