ANIM 220 - Animation III: Character Animation and Motion Capture (R only)
A comprehensive study of both 2D and 3D character development and character animation. Students will gain practical hands-on experience applying animation principles in both 2D and 3D animation. Students will explore full-body motion capture and its practical use in collecting real-time data to create animations. PREREQUISITE(S): ANIM 210 . Two hours lecture, four hours studio each week.

Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Create Character designs focusing on appealing characters constructed for 2D and 3D animation.
- Employ professional and effective workflows for modeling a 3D character for animation.
- Utilize animation principles to create full body character and facial animations.
- Apply exaggeration techniques to create clear storytelling poses and action.
- Explore professional and effective practices for working with 2D and 3D production pipelines.
- Use industry standard 2D and 3D software.
- Employ professional and effective workflows for facial animation of both expressions and lip syncs.
- Employ professional and effective workflows for capturing and editing motion capture data for use to create character animations.
