CMGT 272 - Construction Estimating with Computers (R only) CE-R
Using computers, students will receive hands-on instruction in construction estimating. Topics covered include setting up an estimate, performing quantity take-off in its different forms, spreadsheet editing, customizing and revising the estimate, and creating and manipulating reports. The students will also be introduced to advanced concepts of computer estimating software. PREREQUISITE(S): CMGT 270 or consent of department. Ten hours lecture, ten hours laboratory each semester. Formerly CT 292.

Course Outcomes: Upon course completion, a student will be able to:
- Understand the basic process of estimating using Timberline Precision Estimating.
- Set-up an estimate, including cover page information
- Become competent in performing quantity takeoff in its different modes in Timberline.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on the Totals Page, including the creation and addition of Addons.
- Develop a working knowledge of the different reports that can be generated out of the estimate.
- Revise the estimate by adjusting prices and productivity.
